It was a clear summer's eve. Stars twinkled like millions of diamonds in the dark canvas of the sky. Clouds softened the distant horizon, fireflies danced over the fields, and night birds chimed their sweet-sad songs from the tree line. The moon was high and bright, and reflected in eyes wide with delight and wonder. The child raised her arms skyward and cupped her hands, imagining she could hold the moon within, or even pluck it from its rest. She mimed doing so, and then spun and sprinted toward the watchful figures standing on the porch of their country home. Excitedly the child beamed and exclaimed that she had caught the moon, and presented her 'catch' to them. Though cast in deep shadows, she could sense that they were smiling. The woman laughed. It was a gentle and lyrical sound that always made the child imagine songbirds. The man knelt down and made a show of carefully taking the 'captured' moon from his daughter's opened palm. Changes, Don't Break the Chain and other updates

I update so infrequently... Well, I have said in the past that I'm not really a blogger. I'm still not a blogger, but the time for an update of some form has come! Since I've started uploading art again, little by little, I guess I just figured it was about time to let folks know where I've been and all that jazz. Right, so to start off with, there's been some significant change in my life in these past months. Chief among them was my big move to Australia. Yeah. I was born and raised in Nebraska, so this was one heck of an upset to my life. But change is good, and this was definitely a shift for the better. Before the move, my husband and I

Updates and Features!

So this journal is sort of two things rolled into one, now that I have some time to post.   First off, an update: I’m still alive!   I’ve been away from the art world for some time due to illness. Severe back and abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting kept me more or less bed-ridden since just before Thanksgiving. Just after the New Year, I had some scans and tests done at the hospital to pinpoint the cause, which turned out to be my gallbladder. I went under the knife on Jan 14th to have it removed, and have since been recovering at home after a short stay in the hospital. Despite some pain at the surgery site, I feel 100% better th
